No Other Land – Oscars 2025

On the No Other Land received an Oscar in the category Best Documentary. I was truly happy that this documentary managed to also reach the – zionist Hollywood – which is already a win! I watched the documentary a month ago, and even though I have been following the resistance of the Palestinians every day, seeing this documentary touched the nerves and just made you feel the a huge hole growing inside of you. It is painful, and it has to be. Having to face the constant demolition of your home, of your land, of your people, every day… a lot of us in the west (primarily white) have not the slightest clue what it actually feels like to live like this. I also believe many here, lack empathy which given the state of how nations response, shows clearly. The west is a joke when it comes to morals. There is resistance, it is small but present. Nevertheless, even though the majority of this planet already knew that the west was a two faced snitch, the assault on Gaza took its last mask piece away. And there is no going back. Anyway, I am glad that the documentation made it so far. This is a „win“ for Palestine. Yes, along with Israeli Journalist/ co-director Yuval Abraham. I think it is unfortunate that the BDS Movement went against the documentation due to the speech of Yuval. In my opinion it is a false take on the situation and in my opinion Yuval has done a lot for Palestinians. It was both their decision to create this documentation, of which Basel is still main owner, it is his story. What matters is the film, the message, the feelings, the images of the film, we should’t let ourselves be derailed and split. The more divided we become, the weaker we get. And this is also felt in the film. I can only encourage everyone to just watch the film. Especially for those, who are still a bit, unable to jump onto the wagon of the Palestinian Freedom.
